Automation Consultant (Dynatrace)

Job Description


  • As a subject matter expert, provides guidance to Automation and Tools Engineering teams, project teams and others regarding deployment, support and problem resolution.
  • Provides leadership, assistance, and guidance to develop and ensure adherence to best practices in standard methodologies and processes.
  • Leads tasks within project, providing technical direction, coordination, and guidance to other staff members, and other assigned projects.
  • Assumes principal technical role in demonstrations, furnishing technical expertise.
  • Provides strategic direction, coaching/mentoring and continued staff development to team members and associates.
  • Apply subject matter expertise in material handling and electronic systems to maximize development, deployment and utilization of systems.
  • Define and enforce design process steps, including reviews and release processes.
  • Participate in problem recovery efforts, failure analysis and incident review processes and implement process improvements or retraining to avoid future incidents
  • Build and mature relationships with staff, leadership, clients, vendors, partner teams and internal resources.
  • Establishes cost and time estimates for implementation. Identifies, analyzes, and evaluates alternative design solutions.
  • Leads tasks within project, providing technical direction, coordination, and guidance to other staff members, and other assigned projects.
  • Help create and execute complex automated scripts and tests based on acceptance criteria and test plans.
  • Performs other tasks and special assignments as requested by management.
  • Develop, document and manage tools and automation standards.
  • Present ideas clearly to executives and personnel regarding development, testing, deployment and support.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and develop test cases for planning and execution work.
  • Makes recommendations for systems improvements and oversees approved implementation efforts.


Extensive experience analyzing, installing, and maintaining platform automation, monitoring and other tools across multiple technical disciplines.
Prior automation and tools management experience preferred. Project management experience preferred.

Strong communication and executive level presentation skills.

Extensive background leading complex automation and tools integration.

Advanced Knowledge and/or Experience With: Dynatrace, Sitescope, AppD, New Relic, WinAutomation, Automation Anywhere, JIRA, ServiceNow

Years of Experience: 5-10 years
Level of Formal Education: Bachelor s degree, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.

3. Extensive background and experience in managing and deploying automation across complex global environments.
4. Extensive first-hand scripting capabilities.
5. Strong forecasting, resource demand and financial management skills.

6. Experience managing remote technical teams/resources.
