Job Description

  •  Discovers, clarifies, and defines questions, hypotheses, or opportunities to which scientific data methods can be applied to achieve business and/or customer goals  
  •  Drives clear, compelling, actionable, well-timed insights through storytelling, visualizations, and other tools that influence product/service improvements that yield customer/business value.  
  •  Apply data exploration and statistical data analysis methods correctly to discover new or previously unasked questions, and rigorously document the approach, analysis, and results  
  •  Applies (and customizes as necessary) tools to efficiently collect, clean, and prepare massive volumes of data for analysis.  
  •  Extends existing data sources by adding attributes, mitigating data limitations, and using existing sources in ways that significantly improve results.  
  •  Designs well-formulated experiments by collecting data, applying the    appropriate methods   , algorithms, and tools, and by statistically validating results against known biases and errors  
  •  Develops foundational knowledge and methods that address key problem    areas, and   shares them with the broader team.  
  •  Use agile development principles to produce continuous value while readily adapting to change  
  •  Model Microsoft cultural    values,   foster a healthy and inclusive team environment.  


  •  5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Science, Analytics and/or Statistics  
  •  Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics  
  •  Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, statistical inferencing, power analysis etc.  
  •  Proficiency   in using one or more programming or scripting languages like Python, Perl, JavaScript, C, C# to work with data  
  •  Experience performing data analysis and applying statistics working with tools like Excel, R, MATLAB, AMPL, or SAS  
  •  Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data  
  •  Engineering experience using large data systems on SQL, Hadoop, Hive queries, etc.  
  •  Effective collaboration skills to increase efficiency, drive product and business impact  

 

 Preferred    Qualifications    

  •  Experience with machine learning, deep learning, anomaly detection, predictive analysis etc.  
  •  Advanced data visualization experience using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker etc.  
  •  Prior experience in consumer or B2B acquisition, renewal and expansion campaigns is a plus  
  •  Familiarity with modern software engineering tools including git  
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
